Economic Forum

A new fully responsive website for one of the largest business forums.

About the project

The project involved the creation of a modern web platform for an event organized by the Institute of Eastern Studies (ISW) – one of the leading organizers of economic conferences and forums in Central and Eastern Europe.

The solution was implemented for the Economic Forum, serving as the event’s official website and a tool supporting its communication and marketing activities.

The platform enables the presentation of key event information, including speakers, the agenda, and the organizing team, and was also designed as a universal solution that could be used for future ISW initiatives.

Additionally, the system was equipped with an administration panel for easy content management and newsletter mechanisms to support lead generation.

Business goal

The main goal was to create an efficient and modern platform supporting the communication of one of the key events organized by ISW. The implementation made it possible to:

  • create a professional and coherent event website
  • effectively present speakers and program content
  • support marketing and lead generation activities
  • enable easy content management for the organizer’s team
  • improve UX, performance, and SEO compared with the previous WordPress-based solution

Design challenges

One of the main challenges was optimizing the loading of large amounts of visual content, especially in sections presenting many speakers and visual elements.

Another important aspect was the client’s exceptional attention to visual detail, which required pixel-perfect implementation of the designs.

The project was also delivered using Strapi, a technology that was new to the team, and under a fixed deadline tied to the event launch.

This required efficient work organization and parallel development of the team’s technical capabilities.

Our approach – scope of the solution

The platform was designed in a headless CMS model, where Strapi is responsible for content management and Next.js for presentation.

A key part of the implementation was a modular content architecture based on:

  • dynamic blocks configurable from the admin panel
  • reusable components
  • flexible page building without developer involvement

Thanks to this approach, the system can be used not only for the Economic Forum, but also for other events organized by ISW.

Performance and safety

Due to the large amount of visual content, ensuring high application performance was crucial.

The implemented solutions included:
  • lazy loading of assets
  • thumbnail generation
  • static site generation (SSG)
  • dedicated caching
  • query optimization with data indexing.

In terms of security:
  • the project used Strapi roles and permissions
  • introduced a dedicated plugin limiting access to CMS functions
  • secured API operations and content management.

Architecture and technologies

The system architecture is based on a headless approach:

  • Frontend: Next.js
  • Backend (CMS): Strapi (Node.js)
  • Database: PostgreSQL

The frontend application retrieves data from the CMS through an API, which enables dynamic management of the page content and structure.

Results
  • The implementation of the platform allowed the creation of a modern tool supporting the communication of events organized by the Institute of Eastern Studies.

  • The system ensures high efficiency, flexible content management and provides a solid base for supporting subsequent initiatives, such as the Economic Forum and other events of a similar scale.
